Socially Responsible Investing Gaining Traction

While investors traditionally have bought into mutual funds for the most profit, more are intertwining fiscal objectives with a deeper priority: social responsibility.
In the last decade, socially responsible investment assets have grown 4 percent faster than the entire universe of managed assets in the United States, according to the Social Investment Forum, a nonprofit membership organization that promotes socially responsible investments. Last year, these assets were worth $2.29 trillion, up from $639 billion in 1995.
