FC IT is the department within the Investment Bank IT function that develops and supports the systems that support for Financial Control Department (FCD) of the Investment Bank globally
The FC IT Delivery team is responsible for providing project management expertise to manage change to these systems. The delivery team ensure that any CTB (Change The Bank) projects are managed according to the standard project lifecycle.
Delivery managers act as the primary face-off to FCD proving both communications to stakeholders as well as working with change analysts to ensure appropriate levels of support from the line business.
The AMER Regional Delivery Manager co-ordinates change that is initiated and specified by business analysts based in the AMER region, with a primary focus of change to the Global General Ledger (GGL) and regional reporting applications. A particular focus for AMER region change is the Agency Lending Disclosure initiative, and this project is expected to be the primary focus for the new AMER Regional Delivery Manager. The delivery manager is responsible for:
- Providing the interface between business analysts, financial reporting and IT development teams
- Working with key regional stakeholders to define the scope of change based on their requirements, available development team resource and available budget
- Producing and gaining agreement for project plans, then maintaining, tracking and reporting against them
- Reporting and managing risks and issues against each project
- Understanding the impact of change and how it relates to the existing control environment, with particular reference to AMER Financial Reporting
- Ensuring that all testing requirements are identified and communicated to the GGL Testing Team to enable resource allocation; then ensuring that testing is carried out and signed off for integration into the GGL Production environment
- Carrying out Command and Control duties for GGL test phases and releases
- Identifying potential areas of process improvement.
The scope of the role encompasses the following applications
- Management of the Agency Lending Disclosure project
- AMER regional GGL feed changes
- AMER regional financial reporting data quality initiatives.
Required Skills:
- 5 + years Project Management experience in Application Development
- Experience of contributing to the implementation of large-scale change projects in major organizations
- Strong stakeholder management abilities
- A business focused approach to managing projects
- An understanding of project governance, why it is necessary and how to apply it
- The ability to understand quickly the technical components that make up the FC IT systems
- Strong communication skills (including presentations and frequent interaction with business users)
- Project planning, estimating, control and cost management
- Management of people contributing to the projects, but generally not reporting directly to the job holder
Preferred Skills:
- 3 + years of financial services experience (preferably Investment Banking)
- Knowledge of financial instruments accounting procedure is preferred
- Knowledge and experience of enterprise-wide financial systems would be advantageous. Investment Bank uses SAP for parts of the GGL functionality, although specific experience with SAP is not a pre-requisite.
