Changes in Outsourcing Landscape Could Aid CIOs
SearchCIO.com: Big changes are afoot in the outsourcing market as deals come up for renewal and competition between large U.S. consulting firms and global upstarts heats up. CIOs can expect a number of challenges from this major shake-up, including dealing with a more complex market that focuses on multivendor and best-of-breed solutions. CIOs need to prepare now by building a common, flexible technology architecture along with updated standards that all providers much follow. Experts suggest CIOs keep in mind that outsourcing requires more management — not less. To help offset the changes, some experts suggest a blended portfolio approach, with partnerships divided between the Big Six companies, the major Indian providers and small, niche organizations.
