TV about Technology Returns to the Web
I'm really excited about this new project we've just
launched. It's called Digital Life TV, and it's a fully
formed half-hour IPTV show dedicated to the best of the
technology world. Hosted by Patrick Norton, the host of
TechTV's old "Screen Savers" show, our first two episodes
have featured Digg.com founder Kevin Rose, those super-cute
Nintendogs, your friends from ExtremeTech and much more. It
airs live, tonight, at 9 p.m. Eastern (6 p.m. Pacific). You
can find out more about the show -- along with the ability
to watch segments or the whole thing on demand -- at our new
Web site/blog, DigitalLifeTV.com. If you like technology,
you're going to love this show. Check out what the future of
TV looks like -- today!

WinFS Is Back!
Once upon a time, a team of starry-eyed programmers dreamed
up a brand-new way to store files on a PC. Tossing out FAT,
they envisioned a relational database of files instead, at
once both elegant and fast. Alas, dreams die hard, and
WinFS was pulled from Windows Vista back when it was still
Longhorn. Well now, apparently, it is back! Check out our
stunning story about how WinFS lives after all! You can
even find parts of the beta available today!

Lenovo's Grand Plan: Crush Dell in Five Years
Well, he didn't flat out say that, but the head of Chinese
PC maker Lenovo implied it pretty heavily in a recent
sit-down. Lenovo -- which bought IBM's PC business earlier
this year -- wants to become the top worldwide PC maker in
five years. How are they going to get there? Where will
they find growth? Check out our stories for details on
Lenovo's eye-popping plans for world domination!

Tablet PC Near Death
Bill Gates loves it. Lenovo just released one. But despite
accolades from visionaries and hacks, the Tablet PC just
isn't cutting it. Here we are, nearly three years from the
start of the Tablet PC revolution, and based on our
exclusive analysis, failure is a distinct possibility. Why
are we so downbeat? What did we uncover? Read our analysis
for more.

Zotob Worm Suspects Busted
That didn't take long! Two miscreants have been nabbed --
in Turkey and Morocco -- and accused of creating and
distributing the nasty Zotob worm that spread around the Web
last week. Our story has details on the shadowy financial
arrangement between the two, hacker handles and some of the
other nasty malware that the two may have cooked up. If
it's all true, these guys should be banned from computers
for life!

Voice Mail Next Target for Feds
Your company probably already saves all its e-mail, in case
of any potential lawsuits. If you're not already careful
about what you say in e-mail, you should be. But along with
electronic mail and documents, it looks like voice mail may
be the next legal battleground. Ever say something you
regretted in voice mail? Better stop that habit right away!
We've got details on how voice mail retention -- and its
use in lawsuits -- is a scary, and growing, trend.

Sony Releases Walkman Phone
The Walkman has landed -- in convenient phone shape. Find
out why our reviewer thinks this powerful new Sony Ericsson
phone excels at the basic phone stuff -- but won't kill off
the iPod or other portable music players. It's all about
the integration, baby! But boy does this phone rock
otherwise! And if you're interested in what other
music-based phones are out there, don't miss our round-up,
where we compare the Sony with three other musically
significant rivals.

A Great Printer for Photographers
We loved this new Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer. It
features a fancy new ink technology that really delivers
superb photo quality, and it's waterproof and smudgeproof as
well! But it's not perfect -- you'll have to do the
cartridge shuffle for best results. Find out what we liked
-- and didn't -- and how much you'll have to pay for near
perfection, in our review.

Taiwan to Bar VOIP over WiMax
Sometimes protectionism is subtle ... and other times it
hits you over the head like a wet mackerel. Taiwan chose
the latter course, as it barred VOIP packets from its
upcoming WiMax spectrum allocation. Who wins? 3G licensees
on the island, of course. Who loses? Consumers. For more
details, check out our story -- and hope that the Taiwanese
precedent isn't followed by others.
