Open Source-SOA Mash-Up Streamlining DreamWorks Processes

A move to a service-oriented architecture to consolidate and simplify business processes at DreamWorks Animation SKG has been a success, the company reports. The company had migrated to Linux and other open source technologies over a year ago. Now, DreamWorks can insert reusable components of code into software, rather than rewriting the code. The SOA also allows a new copyright tracking tool that provides both authorization and authentication of incoming scripts. The workflow is now streamlined and applications have a common look and feel. DreamWorks chose HP for its SOA for product quality, commitment to innovation and broad expertise. The SOA is running on Linux and leverages HP's Linux Reference Architecture integrated hardware and software stacks.
