Financial assets hit $140 trillion, dwarfing global GDP

Financial assets hit $140 trillion, dwarfing output

Stocks, bonds and other financial assets totaled $140 trillion in 2005 -- setting a new record, according to research by McKinsey & Co. The total value of assets was more than three times the world's total output of goods and services that year.
