Closed-end funds hit by interest rate imbalance

Closed-end mutual funds, which attract investors for their outsized dividends, are losing some steam as short-term interest rises and long-term rates fail to keep up. While analysts advise investors to be cautious, a Wachovia Securities analyst says closed-end funds can still offer a better yield than a non-leveraged open-end fund.
