Group continues to push for small-business exemption to Sarb-Ox

The Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies says it will continue to ask the government to exempt such companies from certain provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, saying the provisions are too costly for smaller firms. Former SEC chairman Richard Breeden said the group's request fails to clearly define a small company, and also said businesses that don't want to comply with Sarb-Ox should consider going private.
