Quote of the Day

"A hundred years ago, the electric telegraph made possible - indeed,
inevitable - the United States of America. The communications satellite
will make equally inevitable a United Nations of Earth; let us hope that
the transition period will not be equally bloody."

Everybody Loves Lucent
By John-Paul Behrens

Bell Labs, in conjunction with Lucent Technologies, have been
responsible for some of the most important technological innovations
since 1925.

Just to name a few, they have been responsible for fax machines, Solar
Batteries, T1 connections, memory chips, fiber-optics, lasers, and
"smart" antennas.

These guys don't slouch. And today, that long and distinguished history
just took another step.

You see, Alcatel (NYSE:ALA) announced that they plan to buy Lucent
Technologies (NYSE:LU) for approximately $13 billion in stock.

However, though this means that Lucent will disappear under the umbrella
of the French technologies firm.

Bell Labs Innovations will live on. And so will its most recent
technological blockbuster: Wireless communication.

Now, in a Cyber Age, wireless technology is becoming more and more
necessary to keep up with the lives of others and ourselves. And Lucent
Technologies is being recognized for it.

It's true. France loves them, the US loves them, and our government
loves them enough to unload our tax dollars on them for their
technology.

Oil Sands in America?

You bet. Hundreds of billions of barrels are in Utah and Colorado alone.

Utah Senator Orrin Hatch said...

"We've sought this for years, and now it's finally happening. We
have more recoverable oil in Utah and Colorado than there is in all the
Middle East . . . more than a trillion barrels."

And with the help of one of the leading oil sands experts from the
University of Alberta, a tiny $4.50 American oil sands company is
planning to extract $3.8 billion worth of American oil. We initiated a
trade on this stock last week... and it's already up more than 17%. But
we think it's going a lot higher. Here's why

SHH! It's a Secret

Bell Labs is Lucent's R&D lab that not only improves on the networking
designs that are commercially available from Lucent Technologies, but
they get government contracts as well.

In fact, they were left out of the merger, and broken off as a separate
entity, so that the classified projects that Bell Labs are contracted
for stay classified within a US company.

You see, this little subsidiary of Lucent is responsible for the
technology behind the networking of our government and the connectivity
of our Armed Forces.

Without limited access, we become a full access nation.

Lucent just recently entered into a new contract with DARPA to develop
laser guided targeting systems, ultra-speed optics communications, and
high-security ad-hoc wireless systems for the troops.

The systems will improve the survivability of the troops and allow for
more precise actions by our military during operations.

Breaking Renewable Energy News: 46% Profit in Six Weeks!

Last week it was announced that 2 ethanol companies have registered to
file for IPO this year. Here's the press release:

"NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Ethanol producers VeraSun Energy and
Aventine Renewable Energy Inc. both filed to raise a total of $200
million as alternative energy makes its way into the market for initial
public offerings.

Brookings, S.D.-based VeraSun filed to raise $150 million as the
larger of the two deals after inking pacts in February with both General
Motors and Ford to install ethanol fuel pumps in the Midwest."

We played this euphoria in ethanol by buying a tiny ethanol stock that's
heads and shoulders above the rest. Since recommending it at $5.09 a
share six weeks ago, the stock hit a high today of $7.42... for a gain
of 46%.

But the deal is... I think this stock is going to $40 as ethanol gets
government support and the lion's share of the media attention. Get our
report on this ethanol company: Visit this Link

Almost Number One

With this merger, Alcatel-Lucent will become even with Cisco Systems
(NYSE:CSCO) as the top telecommunications equipment firm.

Boosting the amount of networking equipment being integrated already
into our communications systems.

Lucent has always been an up-and-comer within the industry.

Since starting out in New Jersey, they've pulled the best and brightest
from all over the nation to create some of the top of the line
networking equipment.

Why WiFi?

This merger only reinforces the fact that networking is becoming a boom
business.

As the government strives to create better ways of communication, these
companies will quickly rise to the top of the heap.

VoIP has made major strides to build itself up in a Verizon/AT&T
dominated market.

And as the technology expands and reinvents itself, more efficient cost
effective alternatives will become more abundant.

This merger proves that telecommunications is an ever growing industry
and we here at Archimedes Lever are excited to see where it will
eventually lead.
