August 18, 2005—If you've ever wanted to operate a home-based business, you're not alone. Home-based businesses are the fastest growing segment of entepreneurism in the nation with a 2004 report from the Small Business Administration indicating that home-based businesses make up 53% of the small business population in the U.S. Home-based businesses represent a broad range of U.S. industrial sectors with 60% of these businesses in the service industries, 16% in construction, 14% in retail trade and the rest scattered across the board, the SBA report said.
